EXCLUSIVE: Leicester City, Swansea, Newcastle representatives hold talks in London over £10m Anderlecht star Kara Mbodji

Anderlecht star Kara Mbodji snubbed the Premier League to pledge his future to the Belgian giants over the summer.

Several clubs were linked with the £10 million rated Senegal defender.

Kara decided to sign a one-year contract extension and currently has another three-years on his current deal.

The Senegal international could however, be on his way to the Premier League in January.

In an exclusive with Turkish-Football, Kara’s representative Ediz Balkan revealed that talks with several Premier League clubs.

Leicester City, Newcastle United, Swansea, Crystal Palace and Brighton and among up to seven Premier League sides that have held initial talks through representatives.

There has been an offer made but Balkan remained coy over the details of the bid.

“Kara has attracted a lot of interest from Premier League sides, we held talks with representatives from those clubs in London last Sunday,” Balkan revealed.

“There are six-seven clubs from the Premier League in talks but I can’t reveal the offers right now.

“There is also interest from Italy and Spain while the big three in Turkey have also held talks. 

“The next round of talks will  Belgium we will have a better picture of what the near future holds for Kara.”

Anderlecht want to keep hold of Kara over the winter transfer window but will sell for the right price.

The next round of talks are set to be held in Belgium.

The 27-year-old has made 14 appearances in all competitions for the Belgium champions this season.

Kara has a total of seven goals and seven assists in 91 appearances for Anderlecht since joining from Genk in 2015.

The versatile defender can also play as a defensive and central midfielder.

Kara has won the league title and Belgium Super Cup with Anderlecht.

The powerful centre-back also has a wealth of international experience with 41 caps for the Senegal national side.
