Fenerbahçe continued their impressive start to the Süper Lig season with a dominant 5-0 victory over Rizespor on Sunday.

The Istanbul giants bounced back from a 2-2 draw against Goztepe with an emphatic win.

The Yellow Canaries were in complete control of the match from start to finish, with a hat-trick from Fred, a goal from Edin Dzeko and an own goal from Husniddin Aliqulov.

Brazilian midfielder Fred stole the show with a sensational hat-trick, his first at the club. The former Manchester United man opened the scoring in the 15th minute with a long-range effort that caught the Rizespor goalkeeper off guard.

He added two more goals in the second half to complete his treble and secure the match ball.

Edin Dzeko continued his fine form with another goal, while Husniddin Aliqulov scored an own goal to add to Rizespor’s misery.

The victory moved Fenerbahçe to the top of the Super Lig table, one point clear of Galatasaray however, the Lions could return to the top as they still have a game in hand.

The Yellow Canaries will face Alanyaspor next at home on 30 August.
