Fenerbahce have officially confirmed that talks for Liverpool’s defender Martin Skrtel are underway.
The Yellow Canaries released a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange saying that talks with both Liverpool and Skrtel are taking place. Statements to the stock exchanged are usually only issued when an agreement between the club and player have already been reached.
Skrtel’s his agent Karol Csonto recently confirmed to Turkish-football.com that Fenerbace are in advanced talks with Liverpool.
Fenerbahce have already signed Aatif Chahechouhe, Gregory van der Wiel and Roman Neustadter this summer. Fenerbahce have already parted ways with defenders Ba, Gokhan Gonul and Bruno Alves over the summer and have made strengthening their defence a priority.
The Slovakian international joined Liverpool from Russian giants Zenit for £7.5 million in 2007 and went onto make 320 appearances for the Reds.
