Fenerbahce are continuing to deny that a deal has been reached with Napoli over the transfer of Eljif Elmas.
A Fenerbahce source has revealed to Turkish-Football that Napoli have made an offer but talks are ongoing and an agreement has not been reached yet.
The Yellow Canaries are not in a rush to sell Elmas and are prepared to drag talks on if necessary to have their demands met.
Napoli are keen on getting the transfer over the line but have yet to match Fenerbahce’s demands.
Elmas is open to a Napoli move but has another three-years remaining on his contract and would not be unsettled if he were to stay.
The 19-year-old grew up a Fenerbahce fan and established himself as a first-team name last term.
Fenerbahce will accept an offer for the right price as they are in economic trouble and have to fulfill their agreements with Financial Fair Play but they will not be forced into accepting a transfer fee that does not match their valuation.
Napoli chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis meanwhile revealed to TV Luna that Elmas could join Napoli this week.
He was asked whether this could be the week Elmas arrives from Turkey.
“That is true!” was his response.
Elmas has four goals in 34 Super Lig appearances since joining the Yellow-Navy Blues in summer 2017.
