Fenerbahce are reportedly interested in signing Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos according to Sky Sports.

The Turkish giants are willing to pay around £10 million for the Brazilian, whose contract expires next summer.

Villa were open to selling Carlos last summer, but the injury to Pau Torres has changed their plans.

With limited options at center-back, Carlos has become an important member of the squad.

Despite Fenerbahce’s interest, Villa manager Unai Emery has emphasized the importance of keeping Carlos, stating that he is a crucial player for the team.

“We need a centre-back like him after Pau Torres’ injury,” Emery said. “We now have three [centre-backs]. We are working with Lamare Bogarde, his versatility can help us.

“We have Sil [Swinkels] in the squad as well, but the idea is to let him go on loan and play. Diego Carlos is necessary.”

While Fenerbahce’s interest is strong, it remains to be seen whether Villa will be willing to sell Carlos in the January transfer window.

Carlos is under contract until 2026 and has made 17 appearances in all competitions this season.
