Fenerbahce edged past local rivals Kasimpasa 2-1 in a thrilling encounter at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium on Saturday, February 24th, 2024. The win temporarily puts them atop the Super Lig table, pending Galatasaray’s result tomorrow.
Kasimpasa surprised Fenerbahce with a disciplined performance, frustrating the home side and creating good chances themselves. The deadlock was broken in the 38th minute when Jackson Porozo headed home from a corner, sending the away fans into a frenzy.

Fenerbahce came out with renewed purpose in the second half, pressing Kasimpasa high and dominating possession. Their efforts were rewarded in the 64th minute when Mert Hakan Yandas curled a delightful shot into the top corner, leveling the score.
The game seemed destined for a draw, but drama unfolded in the 5th minute of additional team. A scramble in the Kasimpasa box saw the ball fall to Michy Batshuayi, who slammed it home to send the stadium into raptures.

In the other Super Lig games, Samsunspor beat Rizespor 3-0 on Friday. On Saturday Kayserispor beat Ankaragucu 3-2, Gaziantep lost 2-0 at home to Basaksehir, Konyaspor beat Hatayspor 2-0.
Meanwhile, on Sunday, Sivasspor beat Pendikspor 4-1, Trabzonspor recorded a 1-0 victory over Adana Demirspor and Fatih Karagumruk drew 1-1 against Alanyaspor.
