Fenerbahce hold direct talks with Chelsea for France international who spent last season out on loan

Kurt Zouma

Fenerbahce have stepped up their interest in Chelsea centre-back Kurt Zouma.

A source close to Fenerbahce has revealed to Turkish-Football.com that their director of football Damien Comolli has held face-to-face talks with the Blues for Zouma.

Per the source, Fenerbahce want to sign Zouma on a season-long loan as they look to bolster their squad this summer.

Chelsea are understood to be open to loaning Zouma out this season. The France international was left out of the Blues 25-man pre-season tour squad.

Zouma spent last season out on loan with Stoke City but was unable to prevent the Potters from being relegated to the Championship.

Fenerbahce will be able to offer the 23-year-old UEFA Champions League football this season.
