Fenerbahçe, now under the management of José Mourinho, has reportedly entered the pursuit of Bournemouth’s versatile winger Marcus Tavernier, with the club making an initial inquiry about the 26-year-old.
According to an exclusive report from TBR Football, the Yellow Canaries are among several clubs eyeing Tavernier, who is also a target for Premier League side Nottingham Forest. Forest recently sold winger Anthony Elanga and is looking for a replacement as they prepare for their first European campaign in 30 years.

A Hotly Contested Transfer
Fenerbahçe faces stiff competition for Tavernier’s signature. In addition to Nottingham Forest, West Ham United is also reportedly keen on the player. Despite the growing interest, Bournemouth remains firm in their stance that they do not want to sell him.
Tavernier has been a key figure for the Cherries since his move from Middlesbrough in the summer of 2022. The highly versatile winger has made 90 appearances for the club, contributing 12 goals and 14 assists. Last season, his adaptability was on full display as he featured in six different positions, showcasing his value to the team.
A Player with Both Skill and Stamina
Tavernier is known for his impressive dribbling, close ball control, and creativity. He excels at carrying the ball past opponents and creating scoring opportunities, making him a dynamic threat in the final third.
His former manager, Gary O’Neil, praised his well-rounded skill set, saying, “I don’t want to big him up too much because I don’t want anyone to come and take him but he’s a good footballer. At top clubs, you have players who are gifted technically and players that are gifted physically. Marcus Tavernier has both.”
O’Neil also highlighted Tavernier’s individual brilliance, recalling a memorable goal against Fulham. “It was an incredible goal. I can’t believe we needed a strike that good to score. It was a big goal,” he added.
As José Mourinho continues to shape his Fenerbahçe squad, the pursuit of a versatile and creative player like Tavernier fits the profile of a team aiming for both domestic and international success. The coming weeks will show if Fenerbahçe can make a breakthrough in a transfer race that is heating up on multiple fronts.
