Fenerbahce have rekindled interest in Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini sources close to the Super Lig side have revealed to Turkish-Football.

Fellaini is on the January shortlist as the Yellow Canaries look to strengthen the squad after a disastrous start to the season.

The Istanbul based outfit find themselves in 17th place at the mid-way point of the season.

Fenerbahce want the experienced midfielder on a six-month loan until the end of the season.

The club are under pressure from Financial Fair Play to curb spending and therefore would not be able to sign the midfielder on a permanent deal.

Fellaini has been attracted interest from Super Lig sides for the past few seasons with Galatasaray making a formal offer over the summer.

Former United manager Jose Mourinho had vetoed all previous moves to sign the Belgium international.

Fellaini’s situation at the club does however, look less certain following the appointment of Ole Gunner Solsjkaar.

The 30-year-old has played just three minutes of Premier League football since the managerial change.

Fellaini was not even included in the matchday squad for the last two league games.

talkSPORT host Jim White believes that Fellaini does not have a future in the team anymore.

“It’s now become apparent Marouane Fellaini can go amid talk Solskjaer is unhappy with his attitude,” he said.

“It’s my understanding he could go in this window and so might Scott McTominay, but it’s clear that Fellaini, and specifically Fellaini, is on borrowed time.”
