Fenerbahce raised over €8 million over a two day period as part of the fund-raising campaign “WinWin” to support the ongoing debt crisis.
The Yellow Canaries raised a record 55.9 million Turkish Lira (approximately €8.2 million) over the two day televised campaign which was broadcasted on the channel TV8.
During the special broadcast hosted by television tycoon Acun Ilicali fans of the club sent a total of 950,000 SMS messages each costing 20 TL to support the club.
Additionally, 123,000 special-edition football jerseys worth TL 300 each were purchased.
Fenerbahce are in debt to the tune of 4.2 billion Turkish Lira (TL) — approximately €675 million.

The Yellow-Navy Blues must raise €60 million by the end of May in order to avoid Financial Fair Play (FFP) sanctions by UEFA.
If they fall short of meeting that goal they could face harsh penalties including a transfer ban and suspension from European competitions.
The club aim to reduce debts through donations from fans crowdfunding campaigns.
