Fenerbahce have rejected Napoli’s offer for Elif Elmas a source close to the Yellow Canaries revealed to Turkish-Football.
The Yellow-Navy Blues are in a strong position in negotiations as there is another three-years remaining on Elmas’ contract.
Additionally, Fenerbahce are keen on keeping Elmas on their books unless their valuation is met.
The Super Lig outfit will not accept below €20m for the 19-year-old midfielder and Napoli will have to put forward a suitable payment plan with the installments.
Napoli have held talks with Elmas’ representatives over a summer move and had made significant progress but suffered a setback yesterday following the latest meeting with Fenerbahce.
The Yellow Canaries have had no shortage of offers for Elmas but Napoli are currently favorites to land a deal.
Elmas is a childhood Fenerbahce fan but is also keen on the Napoli move.
Fenerbahce meanwhile are facing economic problems and are prepared to sell star names this summer to comply with their Financial Fair Play agreements.
The central midfielder is best suited to a No 8 or No 10 role and established himself as one of the few players in the Fenerbahce side who impressed last season.
Elmas scored four times in 40 appearances for the Yellow Canaries in all competitions this term.
