Fenerbahce Remain In Title Race After Controversial Bursaspor Victory

Jeremain Lens

Fenerbahce beat Bursaspor 2-1 in an eventful game at the Sukru Saracoglu stadium.

The visitors actually took the lead when Furkan Soyalp scored a stunning long-range effort.

Just a few minutes later former Fenerbahce striker Moussa Sow scored a rather impressive own goal to level the scores.

Referee Firat Aydinus came under fire after the game for his officiating.

Aydinus was criticised for missing an incident in the first-half that could have seen goalkeeper Volkan Demirel land himself in trouble.

The match official ended up sending Titi off on 83 minutes. The replays showed that he did lash out but that he was on the wrong end of a lunging tackle just moments before.

Fenerbahce made the most of their man advantage when Fernandao scored in the first minute of additional time.

The Yellow Canaries end the week three points behind league leaders Galatasaray with two games remaining.
