Turkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly intensifying their efforts to bolster their midfield, with Tottenham Hotspur’s 28-year-old Malian international, Yves Bissouma, emerging as a prime target.
According to Turkish outlet Hurriyet, the Yellow Canaries are keen on adding a holding midfielder to their ranks during the summer transfer window.

Fenerbahçe has reportedly launched an offensive to secure Bissouma’s services, submitting a proposal for a loan deal with an option to make the transfer permanent next year. Negotiations with Tottenham are said to be ongoing as the Turkish club pushes to bring the African midfielder to the Ülker Stadium.
Bissouma’s tenure at Tottenham Hotspur, since his €29 million move from Brighton & Hove Albion in July 2022, has been a mixed bag. Upon his arrival three years ago, he was considered one of the Premier League’s standout midfielders.
However, he has struggled to replicate that consistent form during his time with the North London club. To date, the Malian international has made 100 appearances for Tottenham, scoring just one goal.
Despite his contributions, Bissouma’s future at Tottenham appears uncertain, with reports suggesting the Lilywhites are open to cashing in on him during the current transfer window. Fenerbahçe is now among several prospective suitors vying for his signature.
Fenerbahçe’s interest in Bissouma is understandable given their squad needs. There is uncertainty surrounding Sofyan Amrabat’s permanent move following the expiration of his loan deal, and key midfielder Fred is approaching the latter stages of his career. Acquiring Bissouma would provide a vital reinforcement in the defensive midfield role.
The Turkish giants have proposed a loan-to-buy structure, indicating their desire to assess Bissouma’s fit within the squad before committing to a permanent transfer.
However, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham will be amenable to a loan arrangement or if they will insist on an outright permanent sale for the 28-year-old Malian international.
As Tottenham works towards potentially parting ways with Bissouma, his next destination remains a significant point of interest in the ongoing transfer market.
