Fenerbahce are set to sign Ankaragucu goalkeeper Altay Bayindir for a €1.7m fee according to the Fanatik.

Per the source, the Yellow Canaries have shook hands with the cash strapped Ankara based side over the transfer of the young keeper.

Bayindir made a name for himself as one of the hottest goalkeeping talents in the league last season.

The 21-year-old was Ankaragucu’s first-choice keeper. Bayindir made 19 appearances in the league and even earned himself a call up to the Turkey national team setup.

The arrival of Bayindir does however, raise question marks over who will be first-choice keeper next season.

Fenerbahce have no shortage of goalkeepers. Harun Tekin was first-choice last term with Volkan Demiral behind him in the pecking order followed by 19-year-old wonder kid Berke Ozer.

Bayindir’s arrival could push Ozer further down the pecking order.

The young keeper could end up being loaned out in search of first-team football despite being the most highly rated talent among the current crop.
