Fenerbahce have been linked with a move for the former Schalke 04 manager Roberto Di Matteo.
The Turkish newspaper Milliyet has claimed that Fenerbahce’s new Director of Football Giuliano Terraneo has singled out Di Matteo as a replacement for Ismail Kartal.
Ismail Kartal has confirmed his resignation as manager of Fenerbahce following his sides 2-0 victory over Kasimpasa in their final game of the season.
The former Assistant manager won 25, drew five and lost five of his 34 Turkish Super League games. Kartal managed to defeat both Besiktas and Galatasaray in the second half of the season.

Di Matteo stepped down as manager of Schalke after just seven months in charge of the Bundesliga side.
The Italian manager previously won the UEFA Champions League with Chelsea back in 2012.
The Yellow Canaries ended the 2014-15 season with a victory over their Istanbul rivals. Fenerbahce have finished the season in second place with 74 points in 34 games.
