Turkish Süper Lig giants Fenerbahçe are reportedly setting their sights on a monumental summer transfer, with Tottenham Hotspur’s South Korean superstar Son Heung-Min emerging as an audacious target according to Fotomac.

The Istanbul club, aiming to build a formidable squad for the new season, is planning to add at least four top-tier names to its roster.

Son, 32, who recently celebrated his first-ever trophy in a decade-long Tottenham career by winning the Europa League, is reportedly considering his future as he has begun to feature more frequently from the substitute’s bench.

Fenerbahçe aims to capitalize on this situation, with plans to initiate formal discussions after the upcoming holiday period. The club’s management is prepared to invest significantly to secure the high-profile forward.

However, Fenerbahçe faces stiff competition, particularly from the Saudi Pro League. Reports in the British media indicate that Al-Ittihad, the reigning Saudi champions, have already tabled an official offer for Son.

Their proposal includes a lucrative four-year contract with an annual salary of €25 million. As of now, the South Korean captain has not yet responded to this lucrative bid.

Son, who joined Tottenham from Bayer Leverkusen in 2015 for €30 million, has been an iconic figure for the North London club.

He has amassed an impressive record of 173 goals and 101 assists in 454 appearances. With his contract set to expire next season, Tottenham has reportedly set a transfer fee of €15 million for their captain, indicating a willingness to facilitate his departure should he agree to terms with another club.

Recognized for his electrifying pace, clinical finishing, and leadership, Son’s individual accolades include being chosen as South Korea’s Footballer of the Year eight times, winning the prestigious Puskas Award in 2020, and sharing the Premier League Golden Boot in the 2021-22 season.

His recent Europa League triumph with Tottenham marked a significant career milestone.

Fenerbahçe’s ambitious pursuit of Son underscores their intent to make a major statement in the transfer market and build a squad capable of challenging for top honors both domestically and in Europe.

The coming weeks will reveal whether they can navigate the substantial financial competition and convince the decorated forward to embark on a new chapter in Turkey.
