Turkish Süper Lig powerhouse Fenerbahçe is reportedly in talks with Aston Villa to secure a loan deal for Jamaican international winger Leon Bailey.

The move, according to Turkish outlet Sporx, is part of Fenerbahçe’s strategy to bolster its attacking options ahead of the new season.

Fenerbahçe, the “Yellow Canaries,” are keen to add a versatile wide attacker to their squad as they aim to unseat rivals Galatasaray and win the league title.

The club has already been active in the transfer market, adding players like Jhon Duran and Archie Brown, and now Bailey has emerged as a key target.

The 27-year-old winger has found himself at a crossroads in his career at Aston Villa. Following the arrival of high-profile attackers Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio earlier this year, Bailey’s playing time has diminished significantly.

After an underwhelming 2024/25 campaign where he registered just two goals and seven assists across all competitions, the former Bayer Leverkusen star’s future in the West Midlands is uncertain.

While Fenerbahçe is pushing for a loan agreement, Aston Villa is reportedly holding out for a permanent transfer, seeking a fee in the range of €25-30 million.

Despite the financial gap between the clubs’ valuations, Fenerbahçe is said to be willing to meet Bailey’s salary demands, which could be a crucial factor in negotiations.

The pursuit of Bailey highlights Fenerbahçe’s intent to upgrade their squad with top-tier talent.

With the club also reportedly considering other wide attackers like Leandro Trossard, securing a deal for Bailey could be the next significant step in their ambitious summer transfer window.
