Fenerbahce Targets Kyle Walker Amid Manchester City Exit Rumors

Manchester City defender Kyle Walker is nearing an exit after Fenerbahçe made an official bid according to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu.

One of the most notable anticipated departures is veteran defender Kyle Walker. After eight years with the Manchester club, the 35-year-old Englishman appears to be on his way out, seemingly no longer a key part of Guardiola’s plans. This was underscored by his exclusion from City’s FIFA Club World Cup squad.

Walker’s brief loan spell at AC Milan in January did not result in a permanent move, opening the door for Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. According to Turkish journalist Yagiz Sabuncuoglu, Fenerbahçe has lodged an official offer with Manchester City for Walker’s services, though the exact transfer fee is yet to be disclosed.

Sabuncuoglu further reports that Walker is seeking a two-year contract from Fenerbahçe. Discussions are reportedly underway with the player’s agent, and it’s understood that Manchester City will not stand in Walker’s way if he reaches an agreement with the Turkish club.

Fenerbahçe’s Ambitious Pursuits: De Bruyne Link Falls Through

This isn’t the first time Fenerbahçe has eyed a City star this summer. Under the management of Jose Mourinho, the Turkish side also made an ambitious attempt to lure Kevin De Bruyne to Istanbul.

Reports indicated a two-year contract offer worth a staggering £21 million (€25 million) in salary. However, De Bruyne reportedly turned down the move, opting instead for Napoli, where he aims to continue competing at the highest level, potentially even in the Champions League.

While De Bruyne’s move to Turkey didn’t materialize, the future of Kyle Walker remains a key focus. For now, Fenerbahçe stands as the sole club to have officially registered interest in the experienced right-back.
