Fenerbahce are set to rival Tottenham in the race to sign the Turkish international midfielder Yunus Malli.
According to TalkSport, Malli is a key target for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as he looks to build a squad which can complete for the Premier League title.
Both clubs received a boost after Malli admitted that he cannot rule out leaving Mainz over the summer transfer window.
“I can’t, won’t rule anything out. What’s the point of saying ‘I play for Mainz this season’ and things look different in two weeks?” Malli was quoted as saying by the Mirror.
Meanwhile the Turkish football outlet Fotospor claims that Fenerbahce are also interested in Malli. The Istanbul giants are on the hunt for a new attacking midfielder after offloading Diego over the summer.
The 22-year-old was included in Turkey’s squad which competed at Euro 2016 this summer in France but hardly featured for Fatih Terim’s side.
Malli netter 11 goals and provided five assist in 36 appearances for Maniz last season.
