Fenerbahce beat Gazieshir Gaziantep 5-0 at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in their opening Super Lig game of the season on Monday 19 August.
The Yellow Canaries got off to a great start winning a penalty on seven minutes which Victor Moses converted.
The home side won another penalty minutes later which Moses ended up missing but summer signing Vedat Muriqi ended up scoring a cracking goal minutes later on his official debut.
Fenerbahce were awarded their third penalty on 24 minutes which Emre Belozoglu converted.
Nabil Dirar extended the Yellow-Navy Blues lead on 74 minutes and 19-year-old attacking midfielder Ferdi Kadioglu scored the fifth and final goal to wrap up a convincing victory.
Fenerbahce were the only team among the big five teams – Basaksehir, Besiktas, Galatasaray and Trabzonspor – to win their opening game of the season – although they were the only team out of the five to play at home.
The Yellow Canaries take on last seasons runners-up Basaksehir away next weekend.
