New Brighton signing Ferdi Kadioglu has expressed his belief that the club can achieve a top-six finish in the Premier League this season.
The 24-year-old full-back, who joined Brighton from Fenerbahce for £25 million, is excited about the opportunity to play in England’s top flight. He praised the club’s ambition and the manager’s clear plans for his role.
“It was a very stressful month for me,” he told BBC Radio Sussex. “It took very long but at the end I’m very happy to sign for Brighton. Very excited and can’t wait to train with the team.
“Brighton was very interested in me for a long time so that made me feel very special. I had a very long conversation with the coach. His plans were clear and how he wants to play, what he wants to do with me. Also the club is very ambitious. If you see what they have spent this transfer window, they want to achieve something.
“I’m also an ambitious player who wants to improve and I think this is the perfect spot to do it.
“If you look at the first two matches, it’s a great start and I think with this team it is possible to reach the top six.”

Kadioglu’s experience at Euro 2024 with Turkey will also be beneficial as he adapts to the Premier League. He believes the high level of competition he faced in the tournament will help him prepare for the challenges of English football.
“The Euros were very good for me,” he added. “I played good, also we reached the quarter-finals which was a big success for Turkey. The levels of the Euros were very high and hopefully that will make it easier for me to adapt to the Premier League.”
The versatile defender is comfortable playing on both the left and right sides of the defense. He is known for his attacking prowess and his ability to contribute defensively.
“I prefer to play left-back or right-back,” he added.
“I’m a player who likes the ball at my feet, carrying it forward and breaking lines. Also I have a high workrate defensively and offensively. I think the fans can expect a player with a lot of energy.”
