Former Chelsea & Everton striker Samuel Eto’o joins new club

Former Chelsea, Everton and Barcelona striker Samuel Eto’o joined Turkish Super League side Konyaspor.

The experienced forward put pen-to-paper on a two-and-a-half-year deal with the Turkish top-flight side.

Eto’o has been in terrific form since his move to Turkey back in 2015. The ex-Cameroon international scored 44 goals in 77 appearances for Antalyaspor.

The journeyman striker previously played in Spain, Russia, England and Italy. Eto’o won the UEFA Champions League with both Barcelona and Inter Milan.

The star striker also racked up three La Liga titles and one Serie A championship.

He also won an Olympic gold medal, which he won with Cameroon back in 2000.

Konyaspor currently find themselves in 17th spot in the Turkish Super Lig. The Anatolian Eagles have however strengthened their side significantly over the January transfer window.

Eto’o could make his debut for Konyaspor when they take on Turkish Super Lig giants Galatasaray in the Turkish Cup tonight.
