Former Galatasaray star Drogba could be on his way to the MLS from Chelsea
[divider]The former Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has received an offer from the MLS side Portland Timbers.
Drogba could be the second Premier League start to sign for a MLS side this month with Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard agreeing a move to the Los Angeles Galaxy.
Portland Timbers President Merritt Paulson said, “Drogba is a unique guy who, despite his age, is uniquely skilled to clean up in MLS.
“The League almost signed him a couple years ago and I know my coach would love him to be a Timber, but I highly doubt it at this point.”
Drogba joined Galatasaray on a free transfer from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in January 2012.
The Ivory Coast international spent two seasons at Galatasaray and scored 20 goals in 53 games.
Drogba has scored six goals in 24 appearances for Chelsea this season.
