Schalke 04 have offered Kevin-Prince Boateng to Besiktas according to Eurosport.
The report goes onto state that the Istanbul based club are interested in singing the 28-year-old.
The Ghana international was expected to join Sporting Lisbon this week however, the transfer fell though because of the player’s image rights.
Sporting confirmed the news on their official Facebook page stating, “after negotiations, it was not possible to reach an agreement relating to his image rights”.
Boateng has a year remaining on his contract with Schalke 04 who have placed the 28-year-old on the transfer list. The Bundesliga side are understood to be looking for a fee in the region of €5 million.
The former Tottenham midfielder was banned indefinitely by Schalke 04 and is expected to leave this summer.
Galatasaray and MLS side New York Red Bulls are also reported to be in the race for the Ghana international.
Boateng provided five assists in 25 appearances for Schalke in all competitions last season.
