France International Drops Hint Over Liverpool Star Future After Confirmation Of Anfield Exit

Emre Can is expected to leave Anfield after four years at the club after Liverpool revealed his contract will not be renewed.

The Reds confirmed Can’s exit on the official club website wishing the midfielder all the best for the future.

The statement read: “Everybody at Liverpool FC thanks all departing players for their contributions and wishes them the best of luck for the future.”

The midfielder of Turkish origin will be a free agent at the end of the month.

The 24-year-old is expected to move to Italy but despite several reports claiming a deal is imminent the transfer has yet to materialize.

France international and Juventus midfielder Blaise Matuidi dropped a hint over Can’s future after the 2-1 victory over Australia in the World Cup.

“I am happy he’s coming, because he has experience and quality,” Matuidi was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.

“After all, he is a German international. We’ll welcome him with open arms, I know he’ll do very well with us.”

Juventus have made no secret that they want Can but the transfer saga has dragged on for months.

The midfielder could technically still remain at Liverpool if a new contract is offered or join another club.

The Reds have however, already replaced Can by signing Naby Keita and Fabinho.

Can missed out on the 23-man Germany World Cup 2018 squad.
