Liverpool beat Manchester City 3-0 in the Champions League quarter-final first-leg tie at Anfield stadium.
The Reds are now unbeaten at home against the Citizens in their last 18 games.
Liverpool had a great home record against City but few expected Jurgen Klopp’s side to be as dominant as they were.
City boss Pep Guardiola was heavily criticised after the game on social media.

Tonight is no shock. #Fraudiola is always found out in the latter stages of the Champions League when Messi isn’t there to bail him out. #LIVMCI pic.twitter.com/fbwHAOOfek

Ashley Young pocketed Salah for 90 fucking minutes & our team lets him bitch slap em all over the pitch

Fraudiola.
The emperor’s new clothes on show this evening.

Emre Can missed the game due to his back injury. Perhaps it game him some time to reflect over whether he should actually be considering renewing his contract deal.
If Emre Can wants to leave this Liverpool side…his loss.

He must be mad ?
— Julie (@JulieHanly2) April 4, 2018
Exactly – wouldn’t be too bothered ?
— Heidi Lou Klopp (@heidi78910) April 4, 2018
And Emre Can wants to leave this beautiful beautiful club. What a half of football that was. City didn’t even have a sniff at goal #LIVMCI #LFC
— Aniket Kibe (@Aniketkibe) April 4, 2018
Well with Henderson suspended for the return-leg Jurgen Klopp is going to hope he has Can fit for the return leg.
Spare a thought for Jordan Henderson. Was immense today with Molly. After his red card against man city in the dying minutes a few seasons ago, this would hurt a bit. Hope emre can will do the job next week. #LFC

Liverpool fans were evidently delighted with the win and rightfully so they did a tremendous job as the 12th man.
The 12th man effect! Only in Liverpool
— Margel Abasalie (@Son_of_Batman90) April 4, 2018
Good heavens. 3-0 to Liverpool. City all over the place. Pep’s getting sacked in the morning.
— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) April 4, 2018
Fans are sometimes teams’ 12th player. The Anfield crowd is Liverpool’s 12th and 13th players tonight.
— Artur Petrosyan (@arturpetrosyan) April 4, 2018
People doubt the effect of the Anfield atmosphere, just look at tonight. City stunned, Liverpool electric in the first half and resilient in the second. An unbelievable performance and result that sends a message to the rest of Europe.
— Joseph Musker (@JosephMusker) April 4, 2018
Liverpool bossed City. Smashed them in the first half and then controlled the space in the second half. Really professional performance.

That has to go down as one of the all time great Liverpool European performances. Devastating attacking football, then dug in and saw the game out magnificently. Only half the job done, but you couldn’t ask for any more. A night to be proud.

Guardiola’s Manchester City couldn’t get a shot on target against Liverpool at Anfield!
— Indigo ? (@IndigoLFC) April 4, 2018
Unbelievable atmosphere at Anfield. Liverpool showed not only can they punch teams drunk but they can also defend like they’re a 90s Serie A side. #LIVMCI pic.twitter.com/acpZlDkEOa

THIS. This is the Liverpool we told them to fear. This is the difference the atmosphere can make.
