Galatasaray 0-1 Real Madrid: Lions Squander Chances At Turk Telekom Arena

Galatasaray suffered a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid at the Turk Telekom Arena on Tuesday evening in the Champions League.

The loss saw the Lions remain bottom of Group A on one point after three games.

The Yellow-Reds are currently the only side out of the 32 teams in the tournament yet to have scored a goal this campaign.

But things could have been so different had Florin Andone converted two golden opportunities in the first half.

Galatasaray took the game to Real Madrid early on and created several goal-scoring chances which were all squandered before the Spanish giants converted.

Toni Kroos’ deflected shot following Eden Hazard’s cutback put Real ahead and ended up sealing all three points.

The game became stretched after the half-time interval with Galatasaray searching for an equalizer.

Real hit the home side on the counter-attack several times but were prevented by Fernando Muslera who made 12 saves – the most saves made by a goalkeeper in the Champions League in a single match this season.

The Lions take on Real Madrid next in Spain on Match Day 4.
