Turkish Super Lig outfit Galatasaray are in advanced talks to sign Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso, according to Aksam.

The 27-year-old Argentine has struggled for regular playing time at Tottenham this season, making just four Premier League appearances. He spent the previous season on loan at Villarreal, where he impressed with his creativity and playmaking abilities.

Galatasaray, currently second in the Super Lig on goal difference behind leaders Fenerbahce and chasing the title, see Lo Celso as a vital piece to bolster their attacking midfield.

The Lions are also competing in the Europa League and want to strengthen the team to help compete on all fronts.

They envision him playing as their “number ten”, orchestrating their attacks and unlocking defenses.

Sources say negotiations between the two clubs are progressing well, with both parties open to the transfer. Lo Celso is also believed to be receptive to the move, seeking a fresh start where he can regain his best form.

The Turkish transfer window closes on Friday, so a decision on Lo Celso’s future is expected soon. If the deal goes through, it would be a significant coup for Galatasaray, adding proven talent and experience to their title quest.

Lo Celso has struggled with injuries during his Tottenham spell. He previously impressed on loan at Real Betis before joining Tottenham permanently.
