Galatasaray Complete Transfer Of Leeds Target Mbaye Diagne & Kostas Mitroglou

Galatasaray have completed the transfer of Kasimpasa striker Mbaye Diagne on a €10m move.

The club confirmed the transfer on the official Galatasaray website and disclosed the financial details of the move.

Diagne signed a four and a half year deal which will be broken down as follows.

2018-2019 season: 1.150.000 EUR

2019-2020 season: 2.350.000 EUR

2020-2021 season: 2.350.000 EUR

2021-2022 season: 2.400.000 EUR

2022-2023 season: 2.400.000 EUR

Diagne had been targetted by Leeds United, Reading and Hull City [Turkish-Football] over the summer transfer window.

The 1.93m tall striker has been in great form this season scoring 20 goals and providing two assists in 17 appearances for Kasimpasa this season – top scorer in the top flight.

Galatasaray also announced the transfer of Kostas Mitroglou on an 18-month loan from Marseille.

Mitroglou and Diagne were unveiled together earlier today.

The Lions did have a plan B if either transfer collapsed after Schalke 04 forward Franco Di Santo traveled to Istanbul after reaching an agreement in principle with the Super Lig giants.

Galatasaray have however, given up their pursuit of Di Santo after signing Diagne and Mitroglou.

The Yellow-Reds are currently 2nd in the Super Lig, six points behind league leaders Basaksehir.
