Galatasaray have official confirmed that talks with Hamza Hamzaoğlu are underway.
The Istanbul giants released a statement to the Istanbul stock exchange confirming talks had begun with Hamzaoğlu.
The statement reads, “We have opened talks with Mr Hamza Hamzaoğlu for the vacant managerial position.”
Galatasaray board member Ali Dürüst confirmed that the club have reached an agreement in principle with Hamza Hamzaoğlu.
“We have severed ties with Cesare Prandelli,” Dürüst revealed.
“Claudio Taffarel will be in charge for the Gaziantepspor game and we have reached an agreement-in-principle with Hamza Hamzaoğlu.”
Galatasaray have been on the hunt for a new manager since firing former Italian national team manager Prandelli yesterday.
Galatasaray are currently in third place in the Super League with 19 points from 10 games.
