Galatasaray sources have revealed to Turkish-Football that they are interested in Chelsea defender Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The Lions have already made inquiries and submitted a loan bid for the defender.

The Yellow-Reds do however, face competition from Italy for his signature which has made the transfer difficult.

Galatasaray have held talks with Bakayoko and would be able to offer Champions League football but he did spend last season in the Serie A at AC Milan.

The Blues signed Bakayoko from Monaco in 2017 for £40m but has failed to really settle into the London based club.

Bakayoko was loaned to AC Milan last term but they did not make the move permanent for £32m.

The 24-year-old has been training with Chelsea over the pre-season but was left out of the last two friendly games against Red Bull Salzburg and Borussia Monchengladbach.

Galatasaray have made strengthening the defence a priority over the transfer window.

The Super Lig champions conceded 14 more goals than runners-up Basaksehir.
