Galatasaray have confirmed that they are interest in signing Liverpool’s Lucas Leiva.
The Lion’s director Levent Nazifoglu also stated that the Lions have alternatives ready if they are unable to land the Brazil international.
“One of the players we are interested in is Leiva, but there are other alternatives,” Nazifoglu told GSTV.
“One of them will be up front.”
According to Fanatik, Galatasaray are prepared to pay a €3 million upfront fee to sign Lucas on a permanent deal.
Lucas could however, be out injured which would put the Lions efforts to sign him on hold.
The experienced midfielder suffered an injury in the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield last night according to the Daily Star.
The severity of Lucas’ injury is still unknown and the Reds will have to wait for the results of his tests to find out how long he will be out.
Lucas made 40 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions last season.
