Galatasaray are plotting a summer move for Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gündogan, according to ESPN sources.
The Turkish giants approached Gündogan’s representatives last summer before he decided to return to the Etihad Stadium from Barcelona.

While a January transfer is unlikely, Galatasaray believe they can entice the German international to Istanbul in the summer.
Gündogan, who has 82 caps for Germany, has struggled to recapture his best form since returning to City.
He has been named on the bench for the last three games and his future at the club remains uncertain.
With his contract expiring at the end of the season, Gündogan could be available on a free transfer. However, he is also linked with a move to Inter Milan.
Galatasaray will face competition for Gündogan’s signature, but they believe his family ties to Turkey could give them an advantage in the transfer race.
The midfielder is of Turkish origin and is reported to be a Galatasaray fan. However, he has never played in Turkiye before.
