Galatasaray Intensify Pursuit of Man City Midfielder With Direct Approach

Galatasaray have intensified their pursuit of Manchester City midfielder İlkay Gündoğan, with reports suggesting coach Okan Buruk personally contacted the German international according to Fanatik.

Following an initial offer of a two-year contract with a guaranteed salary of €5 million per year, Galatasaray has maintained its interest in Gündoğan.

Buruk reportedly contacted the midfielder directly, urging him to “Come and be the leader of this team on the field.”

Gündogan, who has struggled for consistent playing time at City this season, is open to the move, considering Galatasaray a “childhood love.”

The midfielder is a Germany international but his family are Turkish and he has close ties to the country which he visits regularly.

However, Galatasaray must still convince Manchester City to release the midfielder.

While City are expected to be cooperative if Gündoğan expresses a strong desire to leave, they are also considering extending his contract beyond the current 2025 deadline.

Gündoğan’s experience and leadership qualities would be a significant boost for Galatasaray.
