Arsenal’s Nuno Tavares might be swapping Nottingham Forest for the fiery Istanbul derby come January according to Yeni Safak.

Galatasaray, eager to replace underperforming Angeliño, have reportedly opened talks with the Gunners about a potential loan move for the young Portuguese defender.

Tavares’ loan spell at Forest hasn’t exactly been a roaring success. After a promising start, injuries and selection struggles saw him demoted to the bench.

He even took the drastic step of deleting his Instagram after being left out against West Ham, hinting at his growing frustration.

This dip in form wasn’t lost on Galatasaray, who were interested in Tavares last summer before he opted for Forest. Now, with Angeliño failing to impress and facing a potential move to Ajax, the Lions see Tavares as the perfect replacement.

However, securing a deal won’t be straightforward. Nottingham Forest might hesitate to release Tavares before securing their own defensive cover. Additionally, Arsenal might prefer a permanent sale rather than another loan.

With the transfer window looming, the next few weeks promise to be crucial for Tavares. Will he return to Arsenal, find a new home at Galatasaray, or remain stuck at Nottingham Forest?
