Galatasaray would have to part ways with a foreign player before signing Rodriguez.

The Lions have reached the nine foreign player quota permitted for Süper Lig sides.

Turkish sides are only allowed to sign nine non-Turkish players and can only play five foreign players at any one time.

The Lions have been trying to part ways with Emmanuel Eboue but are yet to receive offers for the Ivory Coast international.

Rodriguez has just over a year left on his contract but has only played 70 minutes of La Liga football this season.

The 29-year-old joined Atleti on a free transfer from Porto in 2012.

The Uruguayan international has made 97 appearances in all competitions since joining the Rojiblancos.
