Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri will remain at the Bundesliga outfit despite interest from Galatasaray and Liverpool.
Bayern Munich winger Xherdan Shaqiri has revealed that he will be staying in Germany this January despite being linked with a move abroad.
“I’ve still got a contract until 2016 and the club have already told me I won’t be going anywhere so I’ve just got to accept that,” Shaqiri told Sport1.
“For as long as I am here, I will give everything I’ve got.
“I try to do my best in training and when the coach rewards me with appearances, like against Hannover, then that’s even better.
“I’m always delighted when I can start games, and I show that too, like I did this time. I think everybody could see how hungry I am to play football.”
Galatasaray were closely linked with Shaqiri before his move to Bayern and have been keeping tabs on him since.
The Lions and Liverpool are reported to be interested in Shaqiri if he becomes available, Atletico Madrid and Juventus have also been linked with the 22-year-old.
Shaqiri has been linked with a move away from Bayern after struggling for first team appearances.
The Switzerland international has only made five appearances for Bayern this season.
