Galatasaray are preparing a £2.6 million offer to sign Arsenal forward Joel Campbell over the summer according to reports in Turkey.

The Portuguese winger is nearing a big money move to Bundesliga outfit Red Bull Leipzig.

Galatasaray would be able to offer Campbell first-team football but could face competition from Istanbul rivals Besiktas.

The Black Eagles are coming off the back of winning the league title for a second consecutive season.

Besiktas have established themselves on the European stage over recent years, reaching the Europa League quarter-finals this season after narrowly missing out on booking a place in the Champions League Last 16.

The Istanbul giants have booked Champions League group stage football again next season.

Campbell has struggled to lock down a first-team role at Arsenal since joining from Saprissa and has spent most of his time at the club out on loan.

The 28-year-old spent the season on loan at Sporting Lisbon.

The Costa Rican international has been sent on loan stints at Villarreal, Olympiakos and Real Betis since joining Arsenal.
