Galatasaray Set To Hold Talks With Danny Welbeck Who Is Set For Arsenal Exit

Galatasaray are set to hold talks with Danny Welbeck in London this week according to the Takvim newspaper.

Per the source, Lions vice-president Abdurrahman Albayrak will travel to England for negotiations with the England international forward.

Welbeck will be leaving Arsenal as a free agent at the end of the season as the North London based outfit did not offer a contract extension.

The striker reportedly asked for €4m per-season and a €3m sign-on fee but the Lions want to reach a compromise.

The 28-year-old joined the Gunners on a €20m move [Transfermarkt] in 2014 but struggled for playing time last season missing 41 games due to an ankle injury.

Welbeck has had injury trouble since joining Arsenal missing much of 2015-16 with a knee problem as well.

The striker scored five times and made just one assist in 14 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last term.

Galatasaray lifted the league title last season and would be able to offer Welbeck Champions League group stage football if he were to consider the move.
