Turkish international winger Yunus Akgün is expected to return to Galatasaray at the end of the season, following his loan spell at Leicester City.

According to Aksam newspaper, Galatasaray will recall the 23-year-old winger as his loan deal expires. Akgün played a total of 1047 minutes for Leicester City this season.

Akgün, who struggled for playing time under Okan Buruk at Galatasaray last season, joined Leicester City on loan last summer with a €9 million conditional purchase option.

However, despite appearing in 22 matches, including 10 starts, and contributing 2 goals and 2 assists for the Championship club, the option wasn’t activated due to not meeting the specific number of appearances required.

The winger will return to his parent club Galatasaray for the upcoming season unless the Foxes decide to keep him on a permanent move.

The 23-year-old has seen his playing time increase recently and has started the last three games for Leicester.

The Foxes are currently first in the Championship and will ensure promotion to the Premier League if they end the season as leaders.
