Galatasaray have launched a formal bid to sign Tottenham Hotspur central midfielder Pape Matar Sarr, submitting an opening €18 million proposal to the Premier League side, sources have told Turkish-Football.

Head coach Okan Buruk has identified the 23-year-old Senegalese star as a primary midfield target to add physical energy, pressing output, and box-to-box dynamism to the Cimbom lineup.

Financial & Contract Status

Negotiations are currently underway between both clubs as they seek to bridge the gap in transfer valuations:

Tottenham turned down Galatasaray’s initial €18 million bid.

The North London club are holding out for at least €25 million to consider parting ways with the midfielder.

Galatasaray have made strong headway in negotiations with Sarr’s representatives, with Senegal national teammate Ismail Jakobs reportedly playing a key role in pitching the project.

Buruk views Sarr as a crucial engine-room addition capable of providing vertical transitions, recovery tackles, and box-to-box coverage alongside Gabriel Sara.

Midfield Reorganization in North London

With Tottenham heavily investing in central midfield reinforcements this summer—including high-profile additions like Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes—Sarr’s potential departure offers Spurs an opportunity to recoup funds while providing the player with guaranteed starter minutes in Istanbul.

As deadline day approaches, Galatasaray officials remain actively locked in talks with Tottenham representatives to find a financial compromise that would secure the midfielder’s move to the Süper Lig.
