Under the guidance of manager Okan Buruk, Galatasaray is setting an ambitious course for the upcoming Super League season, aiming to secure their 26th championship title. Fresh off the high-profile acquisition of Leroy Sané, the club has reportedly turned its attention to securing two more world-class midfielders: Hakan Çalhanoğlu and Bernardo Silva according to Fanatik.

Galatasaray’s early foray into the transfer market has been explosive, with the unexpected “Sané bomb” signaling their serious intent. The Yellow-Reds show no signs of slowing down, with midfield reinforcement now a top priority.

Initially, Galatasaray explored a move for Manchester City’s Portuguese star, Bernardo Silva. The club had hoped Silva would resolve his transfer fee issues with City, but this process did not progress as anticipated.

Subsequent discussions between Galatasaray and Manchester City reportedly indicated that Silva was not central to City’s new season plans, and the English champions gave a green light for his departure. However, negotiations regarding a transfer fee stalled.

Concurrently, a strong link emerged between Galatasaray and Inter Milan’s Hakan Çalhanoğlu. “Cim Bom” (Galatasaray’s nickname) reportedly submitted an offer of €30 million to Inter, payable in three installments over three years.

The Italian club, however, countered with a demand for a €40 million upfront cash payment, initiating a bargaining phase. Çalhanoğlu, who has publicly referred to Galatasaray as his “childhood love,” has expressed his willingness to join if the clubs can reach an agreement. Despite this, Inter has reportedly remained firm on their €40 million valuation in the latest discussions over the past two days.

Following this development, Galatasaray has reportedly re-engaged in discussions for Bernardo Silva, urging the Portuguese superstar to put pressure on Manchester City regarding his transfer fee.

Galatasaray’s negotiating position with City is complicated by astronomical offers from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal. Nevertheless, British media reports suggest Silva has no immediate plans to move to Saudi Arabia, which is seen as a potential advantage for the Turkish side.

Galatasaray’s proactive approach in the transfer market highlights their determination to build a formidable squad capable of challenging for top honors both domestically and in Europe. The coming weeks will reveal whether they can successfully navigate these complex negotiations to bring either Çalhanoğlu or Silva to Istanbul.
