Galatasaray target Van Persie says his future ‘depends on Manchester United’

Galatasaray target Robin Van Persie stated that his future depends on Manchester United.

The Dutch star wants regular first-team football and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford over the summer.

“Things could change but that all depends on Manchester United, not me,” Van Persie told the Metro.

The 31-year-old striker also underlined that he will not allow himself to be used and that he still believes he has another few years playing at the highest level in world football.

“Believe me, I’m relaxed – I’m not going to be part of a puppet show,” he added.

“Am I worried? No, I’m totally relaxed. I have a contract with this club until 2016.

“In a few years’ time I may have to accept that I will no longer play at the very highest level. I don’t think that moment is coming now. I still feel very, very fit.”

Galatasaray board member Cüneyt Tanman will travel to England to hold talks with Van Persie’s representative and put forward a contract worth €4 million per-season according to the Fanatik.

The Lions could however, face competition from bitter rivals Fenerbahçe who are also reported to be closely linked with the Dutch star striker.

Galatasaray won the league title for the 20th time last season and booked a place in the Champions League group stages.
