Galatasaray head into the Champions League Group A match day 5 clash against Manchester United on the back of an emphatic 4-0 victory against Alanyaspor.

The victory comes amid a rocky patch of games which saw the Lions lose back to back games against Bayern Munich and Hatayspor.

Galatasaray actually played well in the 2-1 defeat against Bayern and really tested the German giants however, the loss against Hatayspor came as a shock.

Red-Yellows manager faces a tough task in picking his strongest team after the impressive display of Dries Martins, Baris Alper and Wilfried Zaha against Alanyaspor.

Kerem Akturkoglu and Hakim Ziyech are usually first choice but Mertens and Alper were so impressive that Buruk may decide to make changes.

Akturkoglu was rested against Alanyaspor and Ziyech was rotated. Both players will be match fit for the United clash but Buruk could spring a surprise with his attacking midfield selection.

Zaha however, is almost certain to start against United.

The former United man is on a special training programme to prepare for the match.

He will be playing on the left wing, but there are three candidates for the two spots on the right wing and at number ten.

The coach will make his decision on who to play on the day of the match.

Buruk was also pleased with the increased performance of Tanguy Ndombele in the Alanyaspor game and he could also be a surprise choice.

There are unlikely to be any surprises with the striker choice, Mauro Icardi is almost certain to start. The Argentine striker has 13 goals and four assist in 17 games this term – including two assists and a goal on the weekend – and scored in the 3-2 win over United the last time these two sides met.

Buruk has no major injury concerns or suspensions heading into the United game and has a full squad to pick from.

A victory for Galatasaray would eliminate United from the Champions League.

The Lions are currently tied with Copenhagen on four points, United meanwhile, are last with three points from four games.
