Leicester City, currently leading the Championship table and on course for an immediate return to the Premier League, face a dilemma regarding midfielder Wilfred Ndidi.

According to Turkish outlet A Spor, Galatasaray, current leaders of the Süper Lig, are keen to secure Ndidi’s services on a free transfer. The prospect of Champions League football, which Galatasaray are well-positioned to achieve, could be a major draw for the 27-year-old.

The Nigerian international, a key figure for the Foxes throughout their Championship campaign, is in the final year of his contract. This means he can leave the King Power Stadium for free this summer, sparking interest from several European clubs.

However, Galatasaray are not alone in their pursuit. Spanish side Sevilla, facing financial difficulties and potential Europa League miss, are also reportedly interested in Ndidi, according to Vamos mi Sevilla.

Sporting director Victor Orta sees Ndidi’s availability as an attractive target for the summer transfer window.

Ndidi himself has yet to make a decision about his future. The presence of multiple suitors across Europe suggests a potential bidding war could ensue, with both the allure of Champions League football and financial considerations likely to influence his choice.

Leicester City, despite leading the Championship, face an uphill battle to retain Ndidi’s services beyond this season. His expiring contract presents a significant opportunity for competing clubs looking to bolster their midfield at a minimal cost.

The Lions are currently involved in the Super Lig title race and will book a place in the Champions League if they win the league.
