Manchester City star Leroy Sane has had kind words to say about Mesut Ozil lately.
Firstly he tweeted that the Arsenal man is – along with David Silva – the best footballer he has ever played alongside.
Sane and Ozil played together at international level for Germany.
The City ace has been called up for the latest Germany squad call-up and took part in a press conference.
Sane was probably not expecting what happened next.
A kid from the audience put him on the spot with a cheeky question about how he feels about Ozil not playing for Germany anymore.
The playmaker of Turkish origin quit the Germany side following the 2018 World Cup in Russia citing racism and discrimination as being important factors behind his decision.
“For me personally, it’s a naturally a shame,” he said.
“I would have liked to play with him a bit longer as a football and as a good friend.”
“Unfortunately, it’s not like that anymore.”
“But I think we have good players here, with whom I get on well and can learn a lot from.”
This is why you should never volunteer to answer the first question! ??? pic.twitter.com/MyOPs7agVf
