Germany take on rivals Italy today at the Allianz Arena hoping to put their 3-2 defeat against England on Saturday behind them.
History is not however, on the side of the Germans who have not won against Italy at a major tournament and have won just seven times in the 32 meetings between the two sides – all coming in friendlies.
Germany boss Joachim Low has decided to give Arsenal star Mesut Ozil a spot in the starting line-up but Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has not been rested.
Besiktas star Mario Gomez scored against England but has been dropped going into the Italy game with Gotze starting up-front.
Low has made a total of five chances with Can and Gomez both missing out but starting on the bench.
