Gomis joins Man United star among players snubbed for Arsenal duo

Galatasaray striker Bafetimbi Gomis has not been picked by France coach Didier Deschamps for the 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Bulgaria and Belarus.

The France international has scored seven goals and provided two assists in six Super Lig games this season.

Gomis is the top goalscorer in the Super Lig for table toppers Galatsaray.

Fenerbahce attacking midfielder Valbuena has also failed to make the cut despite being in impressive form for his club.

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial was another in form players to miss out on the France selection.

The 21-year-old has five goals and five assists in eight appearances for United in all competitions.

Martial has provided the highest number of assists in the Champions League this season.

Arsenal duo Olivier Giroud and Alexandre Lacazette meanwhile have made the cut.

Giroud has just one goal for the Gunners this season while Lacazette has netted four times in seven games.

France take on Bulgaria 7 October before taking on Belarus three days later.

Les Blues are top of qualifying Group A one point ahead of Sweden.
