Turkish Süper Lig side Göztepe has reportedly made a bid of £868,000 (€1 million) for out-of-favor Bristol City forward Sinclair Armstrong.
The offer comes with the Turkish transfer window remaining open until September 12, giving the club a last-minute opportunity to secure new players.
Bristol City, which has made a strong start to the season under new manager Gerhard Struber, is reportedly considering the bid. According to Sky Sports reporter Lyall Thomas, the offer is for either a permanent transfer or a loan with an option to buy.
The move for Armstrong comes as the 21-year-old has seen limited playing time this season, making only one start in the Carabao Cup. He has struggled to work his way into Struber’s plans, especially since the arrival of new forward Emil Riis, who has enjoyed a strong start to his Bristol City career.
Despite chairman Jon Lansdown indicating earlier in the summer that Armstrong and others would be given a “new lease of life” under Struber, the Irish international has failed to secure a regular spot. He scored only three goals in 37 Championship appearances last season, a campaign that many found underwhelming.
Armstrong, who has made 43 appearances for the Robins since joining from QPR last summer, is understood to be keen on the move to Göztepe, which would provide him with a chance for more playing time.
