‘This is a great opportunity’ – Tottenham striker arrives in Turkey for medical before completing transfer

Tottenham striker Vincent Janssen has arrived in Istanbul, Turkey ahead of completing his transfer to Fenerbahce.

Janssen was greeted by a large crowd at the Ataturk airport.

The Netherlands international revealed that he was delighted to be in Turkey and feels that Fenerbahce has given him an opportunity to rediscover his form.

“This is a great opportunity, when I heard Fenerbahce wanted my I knew I had to make the move,” Janssen was quoted as saying by Turkish-Football.

“This is a chance for me to prove myself again.

“I am delighted to be here.”

The striker was escorted by Fenerbahce club officials to the training grounds for his medical.

The Dutch striker will put pen-to-paper on his loan deal afterwards.

Janssen will join former Tottenham striker Roberto Soldado and fellow Netherlands international Robin van Persie at the Yellow Canaries.

The Premier League transfer window shut last week but the Super Lig window comes to an end on Friday 8 September.

Fenerbahce are currently 6th in the league on five points after three games and take on last seasons runners-up Basaksehir next.
